The Seed Principle

The Seed Principle

He made the moon to mark the seasons;
the sun knows it's time for setting

Many a modern-day poet, songwriter, and artist has found inspiration in the changing seasons of life. As we embrace autumn, we are surrounded by the turning colors of golden yellows, vibrant oranges,🍂and the rich, maroon hues in textured leaves and shrubs. Meanwhile, some plants begin to release their seeds, dispersing the promise of new growth for the spring planting season ahead.

Just as nature finds its rhythm in each changing season, we, too, can find inspiration in songs of reflection, and transition.

Can you name a song, poem, or verse inspired by the turning, of seasonal, and life transitions?

Seasonal Plants

Question:

Hi I hope you’re doing well! I had a question. My mom got me these flowers and I’m not sure the best thing to do with them. Should I try to plant it before a freeze? Should I keep them inside? Or just enjoy them until they die? lol. They’re so pretty I’m just not sure what to do!

Mums are especially beautiful this time of year, with colors ranging from white, yellow, and lavender to deep reds and rich burgundy.

Newly purchased mums in large pots may be on the dry side, so check the soil upon bringing them home. If the root ball is dry, bottom-water the plant until the soil is evenly moist, then allow excess water to drain.

Place potted mums outdoors in mild temperatures, protecting them from freezing conditions. If planting them in the ground, choose well-draining soil and plant before temperatures drop significantly to give their roots time to establish.

Water regularly while the roots become established, checking the soil daily and watering as needed to keep it consistently moist—but not waterlogged.

Thanks, Mrs. Johnson for the question! 💚

Harvest

Garden to table

From my annual garden, I harvest and prepare a variety of vegetable dishes, creating combinations that sometimes seem to be unlikely pairings! But with a little food science and a dash of creativity, each vegetable can complement another, enhance the flavor, and bring something special to the plate
